With just a week away from the World Cup, it comes as no surprise that I have caught World Cup fever. The symptoms include waking up at strange hours to prepare myself for games, watching exhibition soccer matches, and following soccer news constantly about players' fitness. Yes, I've caught the fever, and it's coming on strong.
I thought I would share the official song of the World Cup today, "Waka Waka" by Shakira. I just love the rhythm in this song, the strong beats and the fast pace. Listening to this song creates just vivid images of past world cups, and continues to stir my excitement for the month that lies ahead. Every four years we get a chance to watch the best soccer players in the world show off their talents, and it never ceases to amaze me.
Two world cups ago, when games were being played in South Korea & Japan, I would watch the late game at 11:30 PM, go to bed, skip the 2nd game, and wake up for the 3rd. Four years ago, I would wakeup at 4:30 AM, to watch the games live in Germany. Now, I have been getting up around 6:30 AM, preparing myself for the greatness that is the World Cup.
Can you tell I'm excited?

It Happens When
This is a new song from Justis Kao, the worship leader at Evergreen Baptist Church in Los Angeles. I really like this song, because it brings back good memories of times at Evergreen. I really enjoyed my time there these past two years, and hopefully will be able to go back sometime in the future. To everyone who makes that place a magical place, thank you for being an awesome community. These last two years I have been extremely challenged by going to Evergreen and hearing teachings about what it means to live a heroes journey. Now as I enter a new stage of my life, I reflect on what God is trying to lead me to. It will definitely not be the easy road, but the challenging road in which I must choose to love.

New Summer, Old Things
After a little bit of thought, I decided to revive this blog.
A lot has changed in the last 2 years.
- imeem is now a part of myspace music
- Obama is now the President
- I've graduated college
- etc...
Anyways, today I finally watched the first Rocky movie. It was good, the music/soundtrack really stuck out to me. It is amazing to see that over 30 years later, sports are still using the music in this movie to pump up the crowd. It's awesome. This is one of the songs that really caught my attention towards the end of the movie called "Going the Distance." About a month ago, while watching Mayweather/Mosely 24/7 on HBO, I heard this towards the end of an episode and loved it. I had no idea that it came from Rocky.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this selection.
